The Crystal Theater opened its doors the year that the building was constructed in 1911. The first manager was Frank A. Gumm, as detailed in an article published in the Daily Journal newspaper. According to this article, the much-anticipated opening day was set for August 16, 1911. Furthermore, the theater continued to be referenced in various advertising materials as late as 1922, indicating its continued presence and prominence in the community during that period.

E.M. Baker, a former Astorian, built the Baker Building in 1911. His wife, Ora C. Baker, was a socialite and hosted many community gatherings in the Baker Hall on the second floor of the building throughout the 1910s and 1920s.

The Discount Center, which occupied a retail storefront, transitioned into Unique Furniture Gallery, serving the community from the 1980s until its closure in 2015. During the same period, the Baker Ballroom was utilized by the Assemblies of God church, hosting numerous services and events throughout the 80s and 90s.
